‘It was life-changing.’ New Rochelle offers affordable housing, studio space for artists

 It all felt surreal when Christina DeJesus learned she had won the lottery for a one-bedroom affordable apartment after years of waiting. The building gives artists like DeJesus priority access, along with the opportunity to rent a studio on the basement level.

“It was life-changing,” DeJesus said. “To be able to obtain a studio of my own allows me to create. This building really propels us forward.”
