Volunteer Opportunities: 9/11 Serve & Remember
Westchester County and Volunteer New York! invite you to take part in the 15th Annual 9/11: Serve & Remember Days of Service — a community-wide effort that turns remembrance into meaningful action.
Date: Friday, September 5 – Kickoff in New Rochelle
Meal-Packing at Monroe University — In partnership with 9/11 Day and Monroe University, volunteers will work in teams to pack 50,000 meals that will be distributed locally by Feeding Westchester.
Volunteers will help with filling, sealing, weighing, and boxing meals. Space is limited — advance registration is required.
Volunteers must be 18+, or 16–17 with an adult and signed waiver.
Parking: This event will take place at the Monroe Athletic Complex. Volunteers will need to park at the New Roc City Parking Garage, a 4-minute walk from Monroe University.

New Rochelle Street Fair
The New Rochelle Street Fair returns on Saturday, September 13, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the area surrounding City Hall. With over 200 vendors, there’s something for everyone — from food and crafts to live music, cultural performances, giant inflatables, and a beer garden.

Community Spotlight: The Power of Her Networking Event

Krave – A New York Eatery, 8 South Division Street, New Rochelle
Free Admission
Krave: A New York Eatery, in partnership with Mona Balgobin, will host The Power of Her Network — an evening of cocktails, connection, and empowerment celebrating Women’s Month this September. Guests will enjoy a live DJ, giveaways, light appetizers, and the chance to network with local women leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals.
Participants are encouraged to bring business cards and register in advance to feature their brand or business.

New Resource for Families: FSW Head Start at 32 LeCount Place
Family Services of Westchester (FSW) is opening its brand-new Head Start Center in New Rochelle this September at 32 LeCount Place.
The center provides:
- Beautiful classrooms and play areas for children ages 3 to 5
- Healthy meals and snacks
- Outdoor learning opportunities
- Caring, well-trained staff
- Health and dental screenings, family resources, and workshops
Enrollment is open now — Head Start is a free program designed to support families, especially those with low income, by giving children a strong start in a nurturing learning environment.
