Saturday, October 3 is shaping up to be a wonderful day to explore New Rochelle.

From a community 5K and secondhand treasures to a neighborhood block party, autumn celebration, live Metropolitan Opera screening, waterfront festivities and evening music, there is something for everyone.

Below are seven ways to enjoy the day!

From Downtown to the waterfront, there is plenty to enjoy throughout New Rochelle on October 3. Choose your favorites, invite a friend and make a day of it!

1. Monroe Miles 5K Community Run and Walk

Kick off your Saturday with the Monroe Miles 5K, an annual Monroe University Homecoming tradition welcoming runners and walkers of all fitness levels.

Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle and support programs and opportunities for local youth.

2. Thrifting Treasure Hunt

Start at the TAG NR Community-Wide Tag Sale, then continue exploring the vintage and consignment shops throughout Downtown New Rochelle with our new Downtown Thrifting Map.

Celebrate 20 years of C-Town in New Rochelle with a community block party featuring a live DJ and family fun.

Celebrate the season on the Plaza at Clinton Park with a market, local makers and artisans, live music, family activities and plenty of autumn fun.

5. The Met: Live in HD—Così fan tutte

Experience the Metropolitan Opera right here in Downtown New Rochelle! Mozart’s witty comedy of love, disguises and romantic mischief comes to the big screen in a colorful production inspired by 1950s Coney Island. Set amid a lively boardwalk amusement park, two couples find themselves on an emotional—and literal—thrill ride.

7. Feel-Good Music and Open Mic at Jolo’s

End your Saturday with free, multi-genre music and an open mic featuring Chip Shelton & Friends. This relaxed, all-ages gathering pairs live entertainment with Jolo’s health-building vegan food and beverages, available for purchase.
