train

Skip, Hop, Jump from there to HERE

They say that New Rochelle is the “fastest growing City” in New York and no wonder – it’s so easy to get here and, once you do, it’s even easier to get around.

Whether you are commuting into the Big Apple via Metro-North for work or staying closer to home for life’s daily needs, there are great transportation options to get you where you need to go.

walk

Imagine everything you could possibly need being within a 15-minute walk. We’re getting close to this daily reality for Downtown residents as our transformation into a walkable, thriving “full service” community continues to move forward at an amazing pace.

drive

With two exits off I-95 and countless others off so many local highways and major Westchester arteries, New Rochelle is definitely conveniently located.

train

Our Metro-North station gets you to and from Grand Central Station in Manhattan in under 40 minutes.

bus

If you prefer to take the bus, the Bee-Line service runs seven days a week to help you get around town and the surrounding areas.

The no-cost CircuitNR on-demand electric vehicle operates multiple routes throughout the City.

scooter

With the warm weather soon returning, the Veo scooters will soon be back in service as well.

plane

In addition to the three major airports serving the New York City area, we are lucky to have a fourth option–the Westchester County Airport–thisclose by.

spring

First Signs of Spring Have Arrived

Some say the appearance of the red-breasted robin is the return of spring. Others say it is the blooming of the daffodils. Exciting news – both have been spotted all over Downtown.

The trees are also waking up from their winter slumber and budding once again. We can see them on Lawton Street along the former bank building, at Ruby Dee Park at Library Green and on Main Street.

Also getting in on the springtime action are the just-planted trees at Anderson Plaza, which is now home to new Juniper, Locust, Yellowwood and Cherry varieties.

Find Special Children’s Attire for Life’s Special Events Right Here in Downtown

With Spring comes plenty of wonderful occasions to dress up – including weddings, religious events such as baptisms, Communions and Confirmations, as well as other big milestone events such as graduations and Quinceneras.

If you have such events on your calendar and your children are included on the guest list, our Downtown merchants have just what you need when it comes to finding a special outfit. Main Street offers a number of dedicated shops with beautiful clothing for children and teens.

First, at Jay’s Boutique at 490C Main Street, owner Rina Arias has outfits for children of all ages, including many styles of beautiful dresses in white and other colors, mini Tuxedos in white, black, and navy, as well as a terrific assortment of intricately decorated baptism gowns. She also sells party shoes in many children’s sizes, colors, and styles to match.

The new addition to Downtown’s party dress circuit is Gloria’s Dress Shop, which just opened at 602 Main St. Owner Gloria Contreras was excited to return to Downtown with her latest venture. She began her career on North Ave. where she owned a shop before relocating to Port Chester and then having a store at the Galleria Mall for 20 years. Now back in New Rochelle, she looks forward to welcoming friends old and new. Stop by and be sure to check out her beautiful Quincenera gowns and other special event attire.
