April is here β and so is Earth Month.
From the Executive Director
Itβs a time to reflect on the small actions we can all take to keep our city clean, healthy, and welcoming.
To celebrate, the New Rochelle Downtown BID and RXR are hosting an Earth Week Festival at the Plaza at Clinton Park on Saturday, April 18, bringing together eco-friendly food, wellness experiences, and sustainability resources for an afternoon of community connection.
We hope you’ll join us β and explore ways we can all help keep Downtown New Rochelle Clean & Green.

Explore downtown β Sustainable Style Map
One of the most sustainable ways to shop is to reuse and repurpose. Downtown New Rochelle is home to vintage, resale, and consignment shops β including Cohen’s Consignment, Consign It on Main, Sweet Preserves, Our Closet, Furniture Care, and the Friends of NRPL Book Store β where you can discover unique finds while reducing waste and supporting local businesses.
During the festival, visitors can explore downtown using the Sustainable Style Walking Map, highlighting nearby shops all within walking distance of Clinton Park.

Clean & Green initiative
Your dog can’t do this part β you can.
Cleaning up after your pet helps keep Downtown New Rochelle clean, healthy, and welcoming for everyone. At the festival, take the Canines for Clean Water pledge and receive free swag, including a dog bandana (while supplies last).

Small actions make a big difference
Earth Month is a reminder that the everyday choices we make β keeping our streets clean, supporting local businesses, and caring for our shared spaces β help shape a healthier community.
Thank you for helping keep Downtown New Rochelle Clean, Green, and Welcoming.

π Downtown spotlight
Last month, the New Rochelle Downtown BID was delighted to sponsor and co-host “Mani with the Mayor” at Zen ShΓΌ Spa in downtown New Rochelle. The event brought community members together for a thoughtful conversation with Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Programs like this highlight the unique businesses and gathering spaces that help make downtown vibrant.
