Two evenings a month, R Cafe becomes a literary oasis, with the For the Love of Words open mic night and the Long and the Short of It Book Club. The open mic evenings, on the fourth Wednesday of the month, draw writers to read their poetry, fiction and memoir writing to a friendly, supportive group of fellow wordsmiths and fans. The book club meets the third Thursday of the month. Variety is the key in the list of selections to discuss, with participants welcome to recommend books they’d like to read.
